Column Marks Settings

Define vertical element identification and automated tagging logic for structural columns.

Label Options

Select the data hierarchy used to generate the Mark parameter. These options determine how Revit identifies each vertical member.

Comprehensive Grid, Location, Level & Zone

The most detailed identifier, utilizing grid intersections and project zones.

Standard Grid, Location & Level

Recommended for large floor plates where zone differentiation is not required.

Active Selection Level & Number

Groups columns by floor level and assigns a sequential integer.

Zonal Level, Number & Zone

Incorporates localized building zones into the sequential numbering logic.

Minimal Number Only

A simple project-wide sequential integer (e.g., 1, 2, 3).

Global Parameters

These values are applied regardless of the Label Option selected:

  • Prefix: The character(s) starting the mark (e.g., "C" for Column).
  • Zone: A manual override or definition for building sectors.
